NICE BUM, SHAME ABOUT THE TOES
Whilst out idly bike riding around South London yesterday - albeit peddling like hell, out of the saddle when possible - a young woman in a passing car commented "Nice bum!"
Nice to know that irony is alive and well.
In the meantime, not such good news for the big toes. A snug pair of hiking boots, plus the pressure of a 5,000 foot or more elevation change, resulted in a couple of piggies looking rather ugly.
This morning, left big piggy supported the weight of 9 litres of compost translated through the left rest of a wheelbarrow. That led to a bit of hopping around and blood.

DON'T MIND ME, I'M BLATHERING
...portable air conditoners - they cool down about 3 square feet and give off more heat out of their exhaust pipes.
...people who clog up the doorways on the Tube. What am I invisible?
...people who don't let others get of Tube trains. Ibid.
...hot weather in cool climates.
...SPAM, particularly Phishing e-mails displaying poor grammar and spelling. What are me? Stupidities or somewhatt?
...crime programmes on TV. Why does society glamourise crime?
...people who put their feet on train and Tube seats. Like you really care about your fellow passengers.
...illness. Bodies are teh suck!

...watching - "Led Zeppelin: DVD" - classic footage of the greatest rock band ever.
...listening to - Rothko "...Francis" and "...Origins": soundscapes with two bass guitars.
...reading - "Allotted Time": gardening without a clue. This'll be me in a few months: unemployed and "up the allotment".
...picking - snails (bastards!) off my poor wee strawberry plants.
...swallowing - with pain thanks to a nasty infection developed since stumbling out of the canyon.
...chewing - pizza.
...drinking - a damn fine margarita, what else?
...spitting - with horror as the "civilsed" world watches Lebanon and Israel burn.
...blogging - again. The mind is full of marvellous blogging ideas, few of which will materialise due to the lack of time and lack of application. Our latest wheeze is to set weekly goals in all aspects of life. Meh, pass the tequila.

8.5 miles over the South Downs in 30 deg weather is not perfect training, but it was a decent warm-up for the Grand Canyon hike. Only a week to go!
Meanwhile, the fire on the North Rim has been contained and facilities have reopened. Hooray!
