The Bridges of Barnstaple
The Longbridge at Barnstaple across the the River Taw has carried traffic for centuries. But, now the town suffocates in cars and trucks.
Behold, the Downstream Bridge...
Carrying the Barnstaple Western Bypass, this ugly concrete structure is nearly complete. Springtime sees the bypass open and Barnstaple's traffic woes disappear.
