DAY 17
Not enough time.
Work. Deadlines. Boss (normally 100 miles away), hovering around the office.
Deadlines. Vacation starts tomorrow.
Stressed out. No down time, No time for blogging. No time for surfing.
Phone rings. E-mail box fills. Boss wanders up to the office.
Boss leaves. Colleague returns to office.
Finally, peace. Work finished. Cool cocktail awaits. Mind switches off.
Vacation.
DEAR READER
The last few weeks have been fairly stressful. There's not been much time for blogging.
There should have been pearls of wisdom on the pro-hunt demo, my new Adidas trainers, Spurs early season progress, Barry Bonds 700th homer, environmental news and all sorts of other nonsense from the interstices of my brain.
Things are looking a bit better on the medical front. Thank you.
And, now the Donut takes a well earned rest. With a fair wind, there'll be postings over at DonutinOz.

A WET BANK HOLIDAY IN SCOTLAND
Kilbride Bay looking towards Arran.
The bonny, bonny wet banks of Loch Lomond.
HELLO, FLOWER
A rather erotic lily.
HOUSEKEEPING
Buh-bye bStats. Hello, Sitemeter.
Added the Moon phases calendar.
Tidied up some web links and blogroll. (So long, Howard. You are dearly missed in the clatter and klang of right wing/libertarian blogs.)
Re-did the copyright stuff. Note the misspellings.
Still not happy with the overall design. But, hey, it's surely a classic by now. Three years and still the same basic clunky, table driven template. CSS, RSS, php: who needs em?
In the land of blind content-driven blogs, the one-eyed blogger is king.

VILNIUS UPDATE
One of this blog's first entires - just over three years ago - was about cardboard policemen in the capital of Latvia. Well, now Iamadonut highlights the Vilnius Jazz Festival. I've heard of Subtonic and Han Bennink and not much else, but I'm sure a cool beard stroking time will be had by all.
Hey, those new EU states are groovy.
Nice!

DEAR READER
This blog was never meant to be a diary or chronicle of my life. But, life has got in the way and I'm afraid there will be little of thoughts from the Donut for the foreseeable future and, for today at least, a bit about what's happened to me and my kith.
A week ago my father suffered a very bad stroke. He was left for 20 hours before being found, as my disabled mother was in respite care. It's been a stressful week for the family. My dad's prognosis is not good, but he's made some progress. It's (cliche time) day-to-day. My sibs and I have had to make emergency provision for my mum as we're not able to care for her. At least she is safe for a month or so.
So, it's not clear what's going to happen.
Family comes first.
